The first time I was flying over the United States, I was amazed by the huge lands, rivers and mountains this country had. It was wonderful. It was marvelous for me to see big streets, cars, parking lots and buildings. I thought that people from the United States had many resources to live.
Many questions arose when I saw this abundance. Why does such abig country want my small piece of land if they already have enough? Why is the United States so interested in resources from other countries? Why does the United States want more? Is it the mentality of having more which has made the United States so rich? Does the United States continue having the first ambition of the first conquerors? I thought that somebody had to pay for it, for their wealth and affluence. These conclusions turned my eyes to the African Americans, the immigrants, the poor people here and the people from my country. The word ambition came to my mind when I remembered the people who continually came to this country becasue the lack of resources has not allowed them to live out of poverty in their countries, and the response of the United States has been to enforce the borders to not allow immigrants to steel their abundance.
Abundance can be easily related to insensitivity and distance. Having too much abundance can isolate people from the reality of other countries. Not everybody can enjoy this abundance in the United States, but many think that becasue they live here, they are part of it. Too much abundance can increase the sense of grandiosity over other countries. It can make people venerate the United States for their materials and not for the quality of their human beings.
